| Abstrak / Catatan | International programmes, such as the International
t Hydrological Decade based in UNESCO and its
successor, the International Hydrological Piogramme,
have stimulated and have been stimulated by the
tremendous upsurge of activity in hydrology in recent
years. Many new research projects have been launched,
many new methods and techniques have been developed.
Some techniques make it possible to acquire
observations in situations where it would have been
impossible before. Others provide means o* processing,
manipulating and making available information that
ate valuable supplements or alternatives to ousting,
methods. This book attempts to present some of
these methods; it reports on a range of selected topics
of current interest and it includes essays on subjects
that are important to hydrologists. but are ones not
often discussed in a hydrological context. The book
is a collection of chapters written by experts in their
own fields, but it is not meant to cover every aspect
of the subject. It is aimed at the wide audience of
hydrologists and scientists working in allied fields.
It should appeal to research and practical hydrologists.
to engineers concerned with water resources and to the
enquiring student of the physical sciences |
